Annual Sports Event – Enthusia
“The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.”
K.R. Mangalam World School, Gurugram is cognizant of the importance of Sports for the holistic development of young people. Aimed at shaping well-groomed individuals, quality health and physical education programs are an elemental part of the school curriculum. The morning of Friday, February 1, 2019 was marked with jubilation as the Management, Staff and Parents of Students of Grades II-V gathered in the school ground to witness the young Mangalamites exhibit their mastery of skills and concepts in physical wellbeing through Enthusia 2019, the annual sports meet.The Chief Guest of the day – Mr. Raj Kumar Sangwan, a renowned boxer and Arjuna Awardee along with Guest of Honour – Mr Balaram Lunar, famous gymnast, declared the meet open and encouraged the students to adopt sports as an integral part of routine to discipline oneself and increase emotional stability.
The School Principal, Mrs. Sunita Nagpal welcomed the esteemed gathering and spoke about learning life skills on the sports field.
The day commenced with the oath taking which was administered by respected Principal Ma’am to all the contestants and participants in order to inculcate true sportsman spirit in them.
After the flag hoisting ceremony, the students took part in an impressive march past wearing costumes in the colors representing the Indian flag: Saffron, White, Green and Blue. An energizing display set the tone for the rest of the event.
The students displayed skills in Taekwondo, football, cricket and gymnastics which was applauded by one and all present. Students competed in athletic events of 100m, 200m and relay races.The event was brought to a close with the grand finale by the children making a beautiful formation of the school initials ‘KRM’. It was indeed a pleasant morning when the young mangalamites displayed true sportsman spirit.
