K.R. Mangalam World School, Gurugram organized “Gantavya from Dilemma to Destination”, a workshop for the students of classes IX TO XII to help them make choices for their future. Professionals from different spheres were part of the event to guide the students from their experiences.
The event commenced with the welcome address by Principal, Ms Sunita Nagpal where she emphasized on the importance of career guidance for students to get clear directions on choosing streams and careers. She also shared with parents that today children have a huge variety of options including unconventional ones and hence universities are offering new courses like Digital Humanities, Mechanotronics and Communicational Design.
This was followed by sessions with Ms Hemani Singh, Director, The Institute of Inventions, Innovations and Entrepreneurship, K R Mangalam University who threw light on unconventional courses offered by KRMU and Mr Abhishek Gupta, a Golden Star Best Innovative Career Counsellor Awardee (2018) as well as Best Career Counsellor Awardee (2018 at World Education Conclave. He discussed with the students about career planning and innovative careers for the future.
“I think today’s workshop is a good opportunity to our options and see what courses are best suitable to us ,” said a Class 11th student. The students of class 10th and 11th were then directed to venues for stream specific discussions as well as for knowing details about unconventional courses. The professionals addressed them and initiated open discussions.
The speakers at those venues were archaeologist Mr A.K Khanna, Ms Neelima Yadav, Clinical Psychologist and Psychologist, Dr Kavita Bhargava, Dr Ramit Sambhial, Emergency Medicine Doctor at Moolchand Medicity and Mr Kondal Reddy, Geophysicist.
Overall the Career Workshop was a great success as it was extremely informative for the students.
