Education at KRM is an integrated process with a flexible curriculum that takes into account the heterogeneity of the students and their learning capabilities .The Pre- Primary wing of KRM caters to early childhood learning where the students imbibe social skills, develop verbal ability and enjoys creating things through art& craft which is an integrated part of the curriculum. The curriculum is open ended and emphasis is laid on acquiring linguistic and logical skills by adopting innovative methods to stimulate interest among the students.
PEDAGOGY & CURRICULUM
Pedagogy :-
Curriculum describes the “What”, that is to be taught and pedagogy describes the “How”, that is how the educator can assist the child to learn. The pedagogical practices adopted at KRM is a set of instructional techniques and strategies which enable learning to take place and provide opportunities for the acquisition of varied skills.
Language and Literacy Development :–
KRM adopts a highly acclaimed phonics based approach for the language literacy which enhances the linguistic and creative skills of the little ones. Recognition of letters, vocabulary enhancement and technique of blending the letters, formulating and eventually reading simple sentences is being followed.
Cognitive Development :–
Cognitive reasoning is built through hands-on learning. Children are equipped progressively through games and puzzles which encourage exploratory learning and spark curiosity in mathematical thinking. There are many articles of Montessori equipment in the Intellectual Development Lab. ‘Beads, shapes, models and other teaching aids, help the students to enhance their logical thinking. Thematic puzzles also develop the hand-eye coordination of the students.
Gross Motor Development :–
Organized and free play are regular features at KRM. It involves – running, hopping, playing, riding a bicycle, fun races and many more. These activities hone the gross motor skills of the students.
Creative Development :–
Creative art & craft activities play an integral role in the school curriculum. The Pre-scholars enjoy exploring ideas and explaining this world through songs, rhymes and role plays.
Socio Emotional Development :-
The Early Childhood years are not only a time for taking first steps or for saying first word. They are also when through their relationship with others they start developing their emotional skills such as recognizing, expressing and managing a wide range of feelings .The staff here shares a strong bond of love and affection with the little ones.
