On 27th and 28th September, 2017, students of the Pre-Primary wing of K.R. Mangalam World School celebrated Dussehra with a lot of religious zeal and fervour in the school. The celebration marked the victory of Lord Rama over the evil king, Ravana and reinforced the message of the triumph of good over evil. The children came in traditional attires. Few children dressed like Sita whereas a few boys dressed like Lord Rama and Hanuman. A special assembly was held in the amphitheatre wherein the story of Ramayana was depicted through a musical presentation and the homecoming of Lord Rama. This was followed by a special performance by the teachers on the song ‘Shubh Aarambh’. All children savoured the delicious puri, aloo and halwa thereafter.Later, everybody assembled in the playground to the symbolic burning of the effigy of Ravana. The day was filled with great joy and enthusiasm. Children learnt values of honesty, respect, humility and obedience, which are the core of the epic story, Ramayana. Overall, the celebration was appreciated and enjoyed by all.
