Sports Day – Enthusia 2019
Sports is an excellent way to imbue in students skills of teamwork, sportsmanship and healthy competition. Sports Day brings about an air of enthusiasm, high energy and spirit in students and is a much awaited event in school.
ENTHUSIA 2019, the Annual Sports Meet of the Pre- Primary Wing at K.R. Mangalam World School, Gurugram was celebrated amidst a lot of enthusiasm and fervor on 23rd February, 2019.
The Chief Guest for the event was Mr.Sumit Malik, an Arjuna Awardee wrestler in 125 kg freestyle category who has received Gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Mr.Pawan Dahiya and Mr. Ashish Thakran, renowned sportsperson, also graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour of the event commenced with a plantation ceremony and a special sports prayer, followed by raising the school flag and oath taking ceremony administered by the School Principal, Ms. Sunita Nagpal. The Chief Guest, Mr.Sumit Malik emphasized the role of sports in our lives and said that we must take out time to play at least one sport.
Various events like Hoopla Drill, Dumb bell Drill, Yoga, Zumba and Gymnastics were interspersed with races like Roll and Run Race, Skip o Skip Race, Drag the Ball Race,
4 X 50m Relay, Hurdle Race and many more, wherein the students of Pre-Nursery to Grade-1 displayed admirable sportsmanship. The parents, teachers and support staff also reveled in true sportsman spirit, on the racing track as well. The Sports Day indeed taught children about fair play and respect for opponents along with qualities of leadership, unity and competitive spirit in all.
