Student’s Workshop on Adoloscent Issues
“If only adolescents would want to be understood, they would never complain of being misunderstood all the time”.
A workshop on “Adolescence” was conducted at K.R. Mangalam World School for the students of class VII and VIII by the eminent pschologist, Dr Soumiya Mudgal. The session began with a talk on the various physical and emotional changes experienced by children in adolescence.
Dr.Soumiya exhorted students on being self-confident by giving a valuable lesson of being friends with oneself first and finding enduring friendships. She wonderfully explained the explicit meaning of “being comfortable in our own skin” and illustrated the importance of appreciating what we have rather than complaining about what we don’t.
The students also got to learn about the changes that occur during adolescence which included mood swings reslting in the tendancies of bullying, disrespecting elders or people of other communities or religion and told how these must be controlled.
Towards the end, the students were given the liberty to ask questions wherein every question was patiently answered, giving students; a learning insight to all their queries. The students learned a lot from the informative workshop.
