Report – Workshop on Story Narration
“Story tellers restore order with imagination, they instill hope again and again”
Children have an innate love for stories. Stories create magic and a sense of wonder in this world. Children tend to retain more knowledge when they can connect it with a classroom activity. To teach the Pre – Primary teachers, this wonderful art, a Story Narration Workshop was organized on 28th July, 2018. A renowned and experienced story narration expert, Ms. Sonia Bareja conducted this enriching session.
Sonia Ma’am emphasized on the importance of storytelling and ways in which it increases verbal proficiency and vocabulary, encourages imagination and creativity, and enhances listening skills in children.
A number of activities, including an impromptu group story enactment, were performed by the teachers to understand the nuances of story narration. The 3L’s of story narration – Learning, Logical Reasoning and Language, were taught to the teachers.
It was indeed an extremely interactive workshop, which will be fresh in the minds of all teachers, for a long, long time.
